Main Services

Road infrastructure is one of the important social infrastructure that supports the national land and our livelihoods.

We are working for all the planning and designs necessary to develop and maintain the roads, ranging from expressways to national highways, local roads and streets.

Road Design
(Outline, Preliminary, Detailed Design)
道路設計(概略・予備・詳細)

There are 3 types of road design:

  • The outline design in which we provide several number of possible routes to demonstrate the effectiveness of the road development, and conduct a comparative study to select the optimal route.
  • The preliminary design in which we study the horizontal and vertical alignments of the selected route, and determine the road centerline and Right-of-Way (RoW).
  • The detailed design in which we study and design the road details based on the selected alignments, and prepare the drawings and quantities for work orders.
Design of Road Facilities
(Interchanges, Junctions, Rest Areas)
連絡等施設・休憩施設設計 (IC・JCT・SA等)

In the design of interchange and junction, we select a suitable type to ensure a safe and smooth connection between roads/expressways having high traffic volumes in consideration of economic efficiency.
For design of rest areas, we study and design safe and convenient parking layouts and efficient facility layouts.

Moreover, we plan and design the installation of smart interchange.

Construction Planning 
Road & Traffic

We develop the construction procedure and time schedule from the preparation stage to completion in order to solve the issues occurred along with the construction work, including the measures to ensure existing traffic, layout of construction yard, heavy vehicles, and equipment.

Additionally, to minimize the impacts on the living environment due to construction, we study the relocation of existing roads, drain ditches, and lifelines of water supply and electricity distribution.

Road Tunnel

Major Services

A tunnel is a part of the road to ensure safe and comfortable road network.

There are several types of tunnel structure, including mountain tunnels using the NATM method and open-cut method, as well as urban tunnels by non-open-cut method. We plan and design the tunnels, and conduct analyses and construction planning for safe construction.

Mountain Tunnel & Facility Design

Based on the road standard, present traffic, geographical and geological conditions, we study the required tunnel inner dimensions, supporting structures, excavation methods, tunnel mouth locations, pavement type and drainage system, mechanical equipment, construction time schedule, electric power facilities and etc. Thereafter, we design the road tunnels superior in ease of construction, safety, and cost efficiency.

In addition, we perform design of the lighting system and emergency facilities required in new tunnels, as well as renewal design of deteriorated tunnels and facilities.

Urban Tunnel
都市トンネル

Tunnels in urban areas will require excavation of unconsolidated ground and be subject to increased ground displacement and tunnel face instability. Where the tunnels are adjacent to buildings and facilities in ground surfaces as well as underground facilities, these facilities will be adversely affected due to tunnel construction.

We will study the adverse impacts on the adjacent buildings and facilities by numerical analysis, propose the appropriate excavation methods such as open-cut and NATM methods, safe support structures, and construction methods that can avoid the said effects, and design the urban tunnels.

Traffic

Major Services

We quantitatively evaluate the effects of road development projects based on the surveys and analyses such as future traffic forecasts and justify the necessity of the said road development projects.

Moreover, we perform surveys, analyze and design the measures against traffic congestion and accidents to ensure safe and comfortable roads.

Road Development Project Evaluation & Study of Road Development Effects 
道路事業評価・道路整備効果の検討

The road development project evaluation will provide an ex-ante evaluation of a new project, re-evaluation, and ex-post evaluation of an ongoing project to further improve the efficiency and transparency of the public projects.

The study of road development effects will provide the analysis of present issues based on the probe data in addition to existing documents and information, and study the possible project effects from the future traffic demand forecast and opinions from the local residents.

Traffic Safety & Congestion Measures
交通安全対策・渋滞対策

The study of traffic safety measures will conduct the analysis of causes of traffic accidents based on the road structure and probe data, provide the proposals of traffic safety measures to reduce the number of accidents, and verify its effectiveness afterwards.

For traffic congestion measures, we identify the root causes of congestion by site visit, traffic count survey and probe data analysis, and propose measures to alleviate traffic congestion.
